These terms apply to every project I take on. If something's not listed here, just ask. I'm straightforward about how I work.
Scope of Work
We'll agree on the specific pages and features before any work begins. I build websites using standard web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). The final list of deliverables is whatever we decide together. No hidden scope, no surprises. Anything outside what we agree on is quoted separately.
Payment
Payment is due in full at launch, before the site goes live. I accept cash or mailed check. If you're not satisfied with the result, you don't pay. No invoices, no payment plans. Just a straight-up satisfaction guarantee.
Revisions
You get up to 3 rounds of revisions during the build phase for the initial design. If you need more than 3 rounds, additional rounds are billed at $25 each. After launch, you get 30 days to request any tweaks at no extra cost. After 30 days, changes are billed at $25 per round of changes.
Timeline
Landing pages typically take about 1 week. Multi-page sites take 1-2 weeks. Redesigns depend on the scope of changes. I'll give you a clear timeline after our first conversation. Delays on your end (waiting for content, approvals, etc.) extend the timeline accordingly.
Hosting
I deploy all sites to Cloudflare Pages (free tier). This includes a free .pages.dev subdomain, global CDN, automatic HTTPS, and reliable uptime. You are responsible for any future hosting costs if you choose to move the site elsewhere. I am not responsible for downtime caused by third-party services or actions you take after handoff.
Domains
If you want to use a custom domain (like yourbusiness.com), you'll need to handle the DNS setup on your end. I'll provide clear instructions on what records to add. You make the changes in your domain provider's settings. I don't purchase or manage domains for clients.
Content
You provide the content (text, photos, logos) unless we agree otherwise. I can write basic site copy and source free-use imagery at no extra charge. You warrant that you have the rights to any materials you provide, and you indemnify me against any claims arising from content you supply.
Intellectual Property
Once the project is paid for in full, you own the final HTML, CSS, and assets delivered as the completed site. If you'd like a copy of the actual source files, just email me and I'll send them over. I retain the right to reuse general patterns, components, and styling approaches in future projects. I also retain the right to display the site in my portfolio unless we agree otherwise.
Satisfaction Guarantee
If you're not happy with the final result, you don't pay. I share a design mockup before any code is written so you know exactly what you're getting. No surprises, no risk.
Warranty Disclaimer
The website is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. I build and test each site thoroughly, but I make no guarantees that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific needs beyond what we've agreed on. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of Liability
I build websites to the best of my ability, but I am not liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the site, including but not limited to lost business, lost revenue, or data loss. My total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the project.
Force Majeure
I am not liable for any delay or failure to perform my obligations under these terms if the delay or failure is caused by events beyond my reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, pandemics, power outages, internet outages, or equipment failure. If such an event occurs, I'll notify you as soon as reasonably possible and the timeline will be adjusted accordingly.
Termination
Either party may terminate the project at any time. If the project is terminated before completion, you pay for work completed up to that point at a prorated rate. If I terminate due to non-payment or non-responsiveness after the site is built but before launch, full payment is still due.
Entire Agreement
These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and me regarding the project. They supersede any prior agreements, proposals, or understandings, whether written or oral. Any modifications to these terms must be agreed to in writing by both parties.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
